Assignment Two

(Part Two) Rugby

 

The second part of this weeks assignment is about my next favourite subject - Rugby. I have two teams that I support, one of them is the South African national team and the other is the provincial team from my province.

 

The Springboks

(South African National Team)

Here is a magazine clipping of when South Africa won the Rugby World Cup in 1995, the man holding the cup was our Captain Francious Pienaar, next to him stands Nelson Mandela who was President of South Africa at the time.

The Sharks

(South African Provincial Team)

SA is divided into a number of small provinces, one of them being Kwazulu Natal - home of the Sharks Rugby team. Articles written about this team describe how they dominated the 90's with their brilliant play, before 1990 they hadn't won the Curry Cup (Provincial equivalent of the World Cup) in something like a hundred years. By 2000 they were recognized as probably the best provincial team in SA.
